A Rough Start!!

So on Monday Kendall started running a fever...we thought due to teething. So Tuesday her fever was getting higher and higher even with Ibuprofen, so of course this landed us at the pediatrician's office. After blood work, and urine tests (which they had to get by Cathing her...no fun) we find out that she has a Kidney infection!!!! Scary! so she was given a shot of antibiotics and some to take by mouth at home for the next ten days...then they told us that they were sending a culture of her urine to the hospital lab for testing.
So they called me today and told me that it was in fact a Kidney infection and that they are going to refer us to Children's for further tests, because its not normal for her to have a Kidney infection at 8 months old and they need to find out why she is having them. Their number one suspect is Kidney Reflux.
Its hard not to cry and be sad that one of my precious babies might have a problem or possibly need surgery...but then I have to say if this is the only health problem that any of my children have then we need to thank the good Lord and move on.
I do have to say that I do feel especially bad because its Kendall. Kendall (technically our baby) has had a rough start. they were born two months premature and so they stayed in the NICU for six weeks. During this six weeks Kendall contracted a MRSA staff infection and had to have a cyst on her wrist drained, and had to be put into an isolation room away from all the other babies (even her sister) and we had to wear these special gowns and gloves to touch her. So when they got home they got RSV. Then Kendall's hemangeoma ulcerated and would not heal and caused her EXCRUCIATING pain!! So she went to Children's to have surgery to have that removed. Then she got a break for a few months and two weeks ago she got tonsillitis..and now a Kidney infection...probably caused by and underlying issue.
I just hope that her issue isn't severe and after this she gets a very long break! She deserves it!!
